Laura, you guys should come down for my bathroom-warming party on May 9! I’ll be sending out e-vites soon and will include you. I’d love to see you (I think the last time was at your wedding!) and you can see all work I’ve done. I need a fresh audience — I think my friends are all tired of hearing about it.

I did the powder room in my house a couple of years ago — have you seen the photos in my Facebook “home improvement” album? The powder room is a nice project because it’s so small and easy to get done.

How is the painting coming at your house?

That sounds really nice. I love high contrast. Thinking about tackling my powder room over the summer when I have some free time. Lots of granite places around here do a vanity top with a white sink for about $300 installed. Might go that route. We’ll see.

They are Home Depot’s MasterBath line, with the shaker door style and the finish color is Java — really dark brown. I bought the “basic” model for the two sink basins and went for the “elite” for the drawer stack so the drawers will pull all the way out. The Corian guy came today to measure, so two weeks from today, I’ll have solid countertops, with two integral sinks. Whoo hoo! The color is “antartica,” which is, as you might guess, mostly white.
