Christmas photos and update
I’m way behind in posts (I still owe a report on my company’s early November retreat!) but here are some photos and reports on Christmas in Wilmington, North Carolina. My niece Katelin is now 16 months and Christmas was lots more fun that last year, when she was just kinda sitting in her chair. I gave her the pop-up toy and car in the photos, and she loved them both. It was so fun to watch her explore and experience. I expect Christmas 2009 will be even more exciting as she gets the hang of things!
We had a great visit, with nice weather, great food and lots of fun and laughs. I tried Wii bowling for the first time, at our neighbors the Boyers, and had a lot of fun. I even got three strikes in the tenth frame of one of our games.

Katelin gets excited each time an animal pops up!

This car had all kinds of great music and buttons to push -- plus a hidden compartment under the seat. Katelin loved to hide her sippy cups in there.

Just before I left for the airport. Katelin is clearly devastated by my impending departure.

The rib roast was done so late, Katelin had already been put to bed. But here's everyone else!

Wilmington? My family has a beach house on Topsail Island! I’m there a couple times a year. In fact, Dad and Annette will be there starting in February for a couple months. They spend about 6-8 months a year in NC.

Darren,
What a small world — we’ll have to try to coordinate a visit sometime! At first I though it was weird my parents wanted to retire there, but it’s just lovely, and Dad loves living on the golf course in their “compound,” as I call it. He plays probably three to four days a week and is in heaven. Mom and Dad play tennis and kayak a lot too. I’m happy they are so healthy and active!
